Who are we?

BattleAxe is a small Australian business specialising in everything games and pop-culture. Our staff are all avid collectors and gamers. We want to share our passion with you by making available some of the rarest exclusive merchandise at affordable prices! You won’t find most of our stuff for sale anywhere else.

Apart from Japanese and US exclusive items, we strive to support Australian companies wherever possible, including Australian TCG organised play.

We aim to provide the friendliest customer service, adapting our store based on our shoppers’ feedback. You guys tell us what we should stock and what we can do to improve. No suggestion will go unconsidered, and no question will go unanswered. That’s our promise to you!

We also want to reward our loyal customers, and that’s where our frequent buyer’s program comes in. For every $150 you spend at BattleAxe, you get a free $10 gift certificate that you can use on your next order!

The History of BattleAxe

BattleAxe started as all game stores do – the dream of a gamer who couldn’t bear to leave their childhood completely behind. As a teenager Ashley often talked about starting a game store, and at the age of 19 he decided to take the idea and run with it. After a very steep learning curve with so many things to understand about businesses and websites, BattleAxe was founded in March 2011. The store has been growing strongly ever since.

Staff Profiles

Ashley Kendall

Birthday: 02/08/1991

With a fairly laid-back personality, Ashley will play pretty much anything given half the chance. He particularly enjoys trading card games and specialises in the Pokemon Trading Card game- but he also likes table top games, board games, video games... you get the picture. Ashley is also a keen console gamer, with his forte lying in role playing and adventure games, while first person shooters remain a weakness due to his inability to aim at anything smaller than a whale. Offline, he also works as a librarian and runs the Pokémon TCG League in Burnie, Tasmania.

Emma Pinferi

Our Mascots

Viktor the Viking

Birthday: Nobody is really sure, but we think sometime around the 8th century.

Smart, calm and collected. These are words we are not going to use to describe Viktor. He's the kind of mouse who throws his game controller at the TV screen when he just can't reach that next level. His favourite games include Super Smash Bros. and anything else where you can kill stuff without any thinking required.

Cody

Birthday: March 1st

Unlike Viktor, Cody is cunning and focuses on strategies to win games. He prefers to stick to puzzle games but also plays the occasional RPG. He often has to clean up after Viktor's antics, which has given him a strong sense of responsibility.
